The following is a rough outline of the event:
From 5 until 5:30 pm we will be gathering in the Square with our signs of protest, where there will be patriotic music playing to bolster our spirits.
Attendees are encouraged to seek out any petitions that may be available and determine whether the focus of any particular petition is of interest to them. Out of respect for the right of all citizens to petition their government for redress of grievances, we are not 'vetting' petitions and cannot say we will necessarily agree with all that are available.
We are also planning on having voter registration available to those who are not yet registered to vote. Registering at our event will not affiliate you with any particular party.
Beginning at 5:30 we have several speakers lined up who will talk about the Constitution versus the IRS; current spending plans and their overall harm; the effects on small business and employment; why we need Statesmen and not Politicians; and how we can end Washington's power over our pockets and ultimately our daily life.
Between Speakers we hope to enjoy mingling with like-minded, freedom loving citizens of East Texas, to the tune of a very talented fiddler from SFA who has graciously volunteered to accompany our event with Revolution-era music.
There will be no campaign speeches, politicking or other partisan activities. This is a movement of the People, not a Party. Attendees are encouraged to make signs expressing whatever their particular displeasure is, but are asked to be respectful that children will be present at this event.
Thank you for joining us!
